Herbert R Thomas launches new Cardiff office

Multi-discipline property consultancy Herbert R Thomas have launched a new office in Cardiff city centre. Founded in 1926, the company already have offices at Cowbridge, Bridgend and Neath and this expansion into the capital city is to further develop the busy commercial department.

Matthew Wright joins the company as a Director, having previously spent 6 years at international property consultancy Jones Lang LaSalle. A chartered surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer, Matthew has acted for a broad range of private and public sector clients, on some of the most prestigious property schemes in Wales. He brings with him a background of undertaking professional valuations for a number of purposes including development (both residential and commercial), loan security, portfolio, acquisitions and accounts, and has acted for all of the major banks and building societies. Matthew commented “This is a very exciting time to be joining Herbert R Thomas. The commercial department has had a tremendously successful few years and this expansion to a new premises in the centre of the city, demonstrates the ambition of the company”.

James Mordecai, Director, will also be based in the new office. James, a specialist in the promotion and disposal of land for development, commented “the new office, overlooking Atlantic Wharf, will cover a broad range of disciplines including agency, development, professional valuation, and landlord and tenant. Our experienced Cardiff team, all of whom are RICS Registered Valuers are recognised on the valuation panels for Barclays, Handelsbanken, Principality Building Society, Valuation Audit Services UK Ltd, Shawbrook (Appraisers) UK, Monmouthshire Building Society and Swansea Building Society. We will look to further expand this area of our business. We are also involved in the promotion of a number of significant development sites across South Wales, combining the company’s longstanding traditions of representing landowners in South Wales, with the current appetite in the market for development”

Also based at the new office will be well known and experienced chartered surveyors Peter Davies (Consultant) and Roisin McGrath (Associate Director), along with valuation administrator Jeanette Brown. Peter, Roisin and Jeanette, who joined the firm from Burnett Davies Chartered Surveyors in 2017, complete a team that can boast a wealth of experience in the Wales and South West property markets. The new office is located at 11-12 Jellicoe Court, Atlantic Wharf, Cardiff.
