Arlington sees further success at Gloucester Business Park

Arlington, the leading UK business park and logistics investor and developer, has achieved further success at its Gloucester Business Park after agreeing a 183,000 sq ft pre-let with Dowty Propellers, a leading manufacturer of aircraft propeller systems.

The 183,000 facility, includes manufacturing space and office accommodation. It will be the new Dowty business headquarters as well as the production and repair facility for Dowty employees in the UK, who are currently working out of interim facilities in the Gloucestershire area.

Dowty employees will progressively transfer to the new facility following construction of the development, which is targeted to complete in late 2019. The Dowty facility will incorporate the latest ‘Brilliant Factory’ technology which equips machines with sensors, allowing data to be analysed in real time.

James Raven, Managing Director of Arlington said: “It’s great news that Dowty have decided to commit to this major investment at Gloucester Business Park. As a business we are determined to maintain Arlington’s 100% track record of delivery for our customers on time and on budget, and to continue to build on the positive momentum both at Gloucester and across the wider portfolio.”

“Our investment in the new facility demonstrates our commitment to the future of Dowty Propellers and the future potential of our people and products,” said Dowty President Oliver Towers. “We’ve built a strong heritage in the area and are proud that we are continuing our history of working in Gloucester. This new facility will allow us to operate in a bespoke environment that ensures we continue our position as a world leader in the design, development, manufacture and support of electronically controlled, all-composite propeller systems.”

Last month Arlington secured possibly the region’s largest office pre-let at the Park in a 65,000 sq ft deal with Ecclesiastical Insurance Office plc.

Gloucester Business Park is home to a large business community of over 70 companies, includes extensive onsite amenities and is located at Junction 11a of the M5 and A417 dual carriageway.
