Matalan heads trio of new lettings totalling 36,000 sq ft at The Lexicon, Bracknell

The Lexicon, the joint venture partnership between Legal & General and Schroder UK Real Estate Fund, has announced the arrival of three new tenants into Bracknell town centre. Between them, the trio will take 36,000 sq ft.

Matalan, the British fashion and homeware retailer, is set to open a 22,000 sq ft store over two floors on Braccan Walk. Matalan is joined on Braccan Walk by British outdoor retailer Mountain Warehouse, who will take 5,000 sq ft over two floors.

The Lexicon will also see Poundland, the variety store chain open around 9,000 sq ft of store space in Princess Square.

These latest arrivals to the centre follow on the back of an impressive first anniversary for The Lexicon as it marked over 16 million visitors since its opening in September 2017. The centre also saw the recent arrivals of TK Maxx, Deichmann, and Gymfinity Kids on top of its existing impressive portfolio of retailers.

Rachel Dickie, Director of Regeneration at Legal & General Capital, said: “The Lexicon has continued to trade tremendously since opening last year. It is great to announce more new brands to the town, creating a real variety of retailers for our customers to enjoy.”

Harry Pickering, Investment Manager at Schroders, commented: “The Lexicon has enjoyed an extraordinary first year, and has begun its second year in an equally impressive manner. We’ve brought in even more popular, high street labels to add to the tailored mix of fashion, dining, and leisure facilities.

“We are very much looking forward to the year ahead and continuing to attract more retailers of this calibre to create the best possible retail mix and experience for visitors to the centre.”

The Lexicon, Bracknell was developed by The Bracknell Regeneration Partnership, a 50:50 joint venture between Legal & General Capital and Schroder UK Real Estate Fund, working in partnership with Bracknell Forest Council. The joint agents for The Lexicon, Bracknell are CBRE and Lunson Mitchenall.
