A selection of industry leaders across the technology and real estate industries have been appointed to the board of the UK PropTech Association (UKPA) – the industry’s main voice and representative body.

The newly co-opted board of directors will lead the association in a number of key initiatives from attracting talent into the industry to devolving PropTech across the UK – to dealing with national challenges such as the housing crises, and the release of public property data, among many other related causes.

The board of directors include; James Dearsley, partner at PropTech Consult, Oli Farago, CEO of Coyote Group, Andrew Lloyd, MD of Search Acumen, Adam Blaxter, Director of Strategy & Business Growth of TBL Group, Giles Newman, previously MD of CoStar Europe and Mark Bruno, MD of Datscha UK. Oli Farago, CEO of Coyote Group says “I’m delighted to join the board of an organisation which is helping to drive digital transformation in the property industry. There’s a lot happening in the industry right now, and so its important to have an organisation like the UKPA to act as the voice of the industry and work with government, and key stakeholders to create a conducive environment for the PropTech industry to thrive.”

In addition to the appointment of the board, the UK PropTech Association is now trading as a not-for-profit organisation.

Sammy Pahal, managing director of the UKPA, commented: “The UKPA is delighted to welcome such an experienced group of advocates for proptech, many of whom bring deep understanding and connections within the property industry and burgeoning tech market. I look forward to working with them and leading crucial debates on the industry’s most pressing issues.”

Most recently the UKPA has launched a ‘Tech for Good’ initiative, exploring the role of property technology in solving nation wide challenges such as housing affordability/shortage, inefficiency of buildings, and productivity within the industry. The first roundtable on housing was well-attended by central government, PropTech, finance, agency and law.

Membership of the UKPA is open to technology and property companies and individuals operating in or interested in PropTech. Full details can be found at www.ukproptech.com
