Latest occupier adds ‘marque’ of luxury to new-build business park

Peterborough commercial property agent, Barker Storey Matthews has confirmed the letting of the penultimate unit at Discovery Business Park, Yaxley to Urban Marque – a family-owned company who supply and install luxury lodges and large garden buildings.

Discovery Business Park is a new development of 12 purpose-built terraced, semi-detached and detached light industrial warehouse, trade counter and showroom units fronting Broadway in Yaxley.

Since Barker Storey Matthews, the sole agent under instruction on behalf of developer Barnack Estates Ltd, confirmed Screwfix as the first occupier earlier this year (May 2017), all but one of the units have occupiers now that Urban Marque has taken six-year lease on Unit 2 which is 153 sq m (1,650 sq ft).

Urban Marque has been trading from Market Deeping since it was established in 2015. It is a growing company and has a customer base in the UK and mainland Europe. Its new premises at Discovery Business Park will see the company host its new showroom and offices with some space for storage too. In seeking new premises, quality and accessibility to customers and suppliers were key, as well as a location from where the company could recruit to meet its expansion plans.

Jake Thorpe, Managing Director, Urban Marque, said, “The Peterborough area was always going to be a default location, given its strategic location for road communications.

“With our new-build unit at Discovery Park, we have premises of notable quality and space in a great location.”

Richard Jones of Barker Storey Matthews’ Peterborough office added, “In offering modern, purpose-built units in a range of sizes on the southern outskirts of the city, Discovery Business Park was always going to meet occupier demand from local independent traders as well as national operators.

“We are confident of serious interest soon in the one remaining unit available to let there.”
