BizSpace, the UK’s largest provider of flexible workspace with offices and workshops across the UK, has started construction work on its first purpose-built business centre, located at Solent Business Park in Fareham. BizSpace has appointed Amiri Construction Ltd as the main contractor on the £5 million project, which is due to complete next summer.

The project will create a three-storey office building with a net floor space of 19,400 sq ft, creating 72 individual offices ranging in size from 120 to 520 sq ft. Other facilities include a large communal breakout area, along with a co-working lounge and meeting rooms to promote networking and socialising through the building. There will also be a car park for 115 vehicles [as well as cycle parking facilities].

Solent Business Park is a successful office park positioned midway between Southampton and Portsmouth. Situated directly north of the M27, the site has excellent transport links, and adjoins with the recently extended Whiteley Shopping centre, providing extensive out-of-town shopping facilities including M&S and Tesco.

With a lack of flexible office space available for small businesses in the area, BizSpace is catering to their needs, developing an environment which provides modern facilities for local businesses.

Nick Smith, Property Director at BizSpace commented: “Today marks a huge milestone for BizSpace as we start construction of our first ground-up development. We have a strategy to expand in this area and along the M27 corridor, where there is a lack of high-quality space for small businesses and entrepreneurs, and jumped at the opportunity to create a purpose-built business centre on this well-located site. We look forward to welcoming the area’s micro-businesses and SMEs to a light, airy business centre with a spacious communal area and co-working lounge next summer.”

Mark Vincent, Director at Amiri Construction commented: “We are excited to be entering this relationship with BizSpace to deliver the company’s first ever development project. Combined with our excellent track record and BizSpace’s innovative workplace designs, this will be a fine example of a modern office building, which will attract and nurture local businesses.”
