London Designer Outlet (LDO) at Wembley Park is the first UK shopping centre to offer Dropit, the app-based, store-to-door delivery service. All purchases bought at any of LDO’s 50 stores can be gathered together and swiftly delivered to customers’ homes, hotels or workplaces at a time and date of their choosing, with same-day deliveries available. The service will launch on 01 December and will be free-of-charge for many customers for an initial period.

This gives visitors the opportunity to take their time to enjoy LDO’s restaurants, coffee shops and cinema without the need to carry shopping bags. They can also enjoy the wider Wembley Park where there is a convergence of retail, dining, leisure, entertainment and public events as well as world-class attractions at Wembley Stadium, The SSE Arena, Wembley and, from December, at Boxpark Wembley. With some 70% of visitors using public transport because of the ease-of-access, a store-to-door delivery service means visitors and local residents can continue having fun, hands-free.

This is the latest service initiative from the capital’s leading fashion and lifestyle outlet centre, which celebrates its fifth birthday in October. It further strengthens LDO’s proven track record of success and maintains its reputation for leading the field.

LDO’s partnership with Dropit will handle LDO’s store-to-door deliveries. The smartphone-based service is expected to boost revenue for LDO’s retailers. Launching in time for the busy Christmas period and Boxing Day Sales, the fully-insured service covers an unlimited number of LDO shopping bags at a flat-rate of just £10.50 for delivery to customers’ preferred location in mainland Britain – whether home, hotel or work. Customers are offered their choice of delivery time slots, making shopping easier and stress-free. The service offers delivery within 24 hours anywhere on mainland Britain and even some same-day deliveries within the M25.

From launch, LDO’s home delivery service will be free for the first 3,000 customers to spend £125 at LDO in a single day, giving a significant helping hand to bag-laden shoppers over the Christmas period. Some 60 per cent of customers spent over £125 in December 2017.

The service combines the best of in-store and digital shopping. CACI research shows, nationally, 85% of spend still touches a physical store. With returns from online shopping five times higher than in-store, it confirms that customers still prefer to touch, test and try before they buy. By introducing delivery, LDO brings together the appeal of major retail brands at year-round outlet prices with hassle-free convenience.

Karin Cabili, Founder and CEO at Dropit, said: “Our service combines with LDO’s keen outlet prices to blend the benefits of online and instore, with home delivery and no bags to carry. Customers use our simple app and leave their purchases in each LDO store. We gather together all the bags and deliver, with real-time tracking and support available through the app. It’s clear that people still want the personal touch of physical shopping but with increased convenience. At LDO, they will get the best of both – and at outlet prices, too.”

Sue Shepherd, Realm’s Centre Manager for LDO, said: “LDO is an urban outlet centre serving the neighbouring residential and working population in Wembley Park, the wider, affluent catchment in London and the Home Counties, and a rapidly growing number of international tourists. We have a proven track record of success, having grown sales every quarter since opening in October 2013. The Dropit service has clear benefits for our diverse guests. Tourists, for example, can shop and still enjoy a full day of sightseeing comfortable knowing their shopping bags will be sent to their hotels. The service will further enhance the consistently superior guest experience we provide.”

LDO offers aspirational and desirable brands at up to 70% off RRP. London’s most accessible outlet centre is easily reached by three Tube lines, two train lines, eight bus routes and has ample on-site car parking. Its fashion, athleisure and lifestyle brands include Nike, Converse, Kurt Geiger, Superdry, Guess, Gap, Skechers, Levi’s, M&S, Villeroy & Boch and Hamleys.

LDO is owned by Quintain and managed by Realm, the UK’s specialist outlet operator. LDO lies at the heart of Wembley Park, London’s newest creative district in which Quintain is investing £1.5m a day.
