Equiem grows UK team as landlords embrace the ‘Equiem experience’

Global property technology and services company, Equiem, has made seven new hires within its rapidly growing UK team, reflecting the firm’s highly successful first year in the UK market.

Founded in Melbourne in 2011, Equiem launched in both the USA and UK in 2017, having established itself as the market leader in Australia.

With the steady evolution of the UK workspace from bricks & mortar to space as a service, occupiers have embraced Equiem’s technology, which seeks to create bustling communities with services and experiences that enrich occupants’ lives. In less than 12 months, the firm has already been contracted to roll out its world leading tenant engagement platform across more than 5.5 million sq ft of premium commercial real estate throughout the UK, with clients such as Lendlease and M&G Real Estate.

Leading the company’s continued growth across the UK and Europe, Adam Malik has been appointed as Head of Business Development. Adam will be responsible for business development, strategic partnerships and raising awareness of the Equiem brand across these markets. Adam started his career in real estate with Berlin Capital and following this, spent 10 years at Investis, a leading digital communications company with a strong focus on real estate, spearheading their expansion into Europe, Russia and The Middle East.

Equiem has also hired PJ Appleton as Head of Communications for the UK. PJ has a strong real estate communications background, having previously worked for the likes of Schroders, Mitsui Fudosan UK, TH Real Estate and British Land at leading UK real estate PR firms, Redwood Consulting and FTI Consulting.

Sarah Hudson has been appointed as Customer Experience Manager for the North of the UK and Ireland. Sarah will be responsible for managing Equiem’s client relationships in these markets, from the initial planning phase, through to implementation and day to day delivery – including overseeing the content and engagement strategies for each client. Sarah joins from Equiem’s Australia team, before which time she worked for Westfield, helping to manage the rollout of the company’s engagement strategy across its shopping centre portfolio.

Further new hires in Equiem’s UK team include:

  • Emma Gordon as Customer Experience Manager
  • Natalie Menzies as Community Manager
  • Abi Rendle as Client Services Coordinator
  • Janine Zager as Business Development Associate

Commenting on the appointments, Bronny Wilson, General Manager Operations, for Equiem UK, said:

“UK commercial real estate is changing fast. Landlords face increasing competition to attract and retain occupiers, and occupiers face fierce competition in recruiting the best talent. For us, it’s been a hugely exciting time to launch here, helping owners, property managers and occupiers meet these challenges head on. We’re delighted to welcome our new joiners and are confident that these hires will allow us to keep driving the fantastic momentum we’ve achieved over the last 12 months.”
