Office principles completes flagship offices for Spencer Ogden

Award-winning design and workplace consultancy, Office Principles has completed a 13,000 square foot fit out project for Spencer Ogden at the energy, engineering and infrastructure recruitment specialist’s new London headquarters on King William Street.

With shower facilities, bike racks and an urban garden, the new space demonstrates a keen desire to nurture and promote its inhabitants’ wellbeing, while providing the company with a bigger space to accommodate its consistent growth and to allow for a more agile style of working.

Office Principles worked closely with Spencer Ogden to provide a set of designs that reflected the needs of the business, enabling an uplift in functionality; taking into account the requirements and preferences of all staff, sought in the early consultation stages.

Work was completed over an eight-week period and included the introduction of flexible working spaces, incorporating quiet zones, private meeting rooms and breakout areas, along with the general shared open-plan office.

The full fit out encompassed mechanical and electrical works, including all heating, air-conditioning, data and electrical installation and the repositioning of some lighting, along with the fit out of feature lighting to certain areas. Office Principles also supplied and installed all ceiling and floor coverings, manifestations, blinds, curtains and kitchen and bathroom facilities.

Penny Blake, facilities manager EMEA for Spencer Ogden is delighted with the work, which was completed after a series of initial test fits: “I attended a number of seminars hosted by Office Principles and was impressed by their exhaustive knowledge and the obvious expertise of the team when it comes to office relocation and the creation of more agile, working spaces.

“We were keen to develop an environment that reflected the brand, while presenting the most engaging space for our particular team. Because Office Principles took the time to get to know me, and what I was hoping to achieve on behalf of the team, we have ended up with the ideal space that reflects the initial vision perfectly.”

Joint managing director of Office Principles, Cyril Parsons comments: “This is a great example of what can be achieved by working closely with a client and taking time, at the initial consultation stage, to ensure that all views have been taken on board and fully considered. It’s great to have such a positive response. Ultimately, our aim is to create spaces that impact positively on people and make them feel happier when they come to work.”

Office Principles has a strong and varied commercial portfolio which includes blue-chip brands such as Exterion Media, Telegraph Media Group, Visa Europe, GE Capital, Fitness First, Tata Communications, ResMed, Direct Marketing Association, Land Securities, Mothercare, and Kuoni.
