REM appoints Matt Peaty as Head of Health and Safety

Real Estate Management (UK) Limited (“REM”) has appointed Matt Peaty as Head of Health and Safety.

Matt will be responsible for driving health and safety best practice across REM’s portfolio of Park House, 48 Pall Mall and Shard Quarter, which includes The Shard, The News Building and the new residential building currently under construction, Shard Place.

Matt has over 16 years’ experience in real estate, property and facilities management. Joining from the Salisbury Group, one of the UK’s leading providers of commercial facilities management solutions, he was QSHEC (quality, safety, health and environmental compliance) Director where he led group health and safety and the quality and environmental compliance of various business streams reporting directly to the senior executive team and the board.

Prior to this, Matt spent six years as Group Senior Health and Safety Manager for Landsec, the UK’s largest real estate investment trust, where he was responsible for a team overseeing the safe and effective management of the retail, London office and leisure portfolios.

Matt has significant experience in HSE Corporate Property Management, including health and safety site compliance; engaging boards on health, safety, environmental and wellness; and has previously worked with the London Property Health and Safety Forum. He is chartered in Health and Safety, with the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.

In his new role, Matt will be leading Health and Safety, ensuring REM maintain their OHSAS 18001 certification, transition into ISO 45001 in 2019 and comply with industry standards and performance.
