Hicks Baker sells Camberley office building for international charity

Following their successful relocation to Thames Tower in Reading, Make-A-Wish Foundation UK has sold its old office headquarters in Camberley. The move to its new ‘Hub’ has been integral to Make-a-Wish’s plans to be more sustainable and to deliver even more wishes to children with life threatening conditions.

Agents Hicks Baker undertook multiple viewings of the property at 329-331 London Road, a 5,283 sq ft. self-contained office building less than a mile from Camberley station. Multiple offers were achieved and the property was sold to Berkshire Corporate Developments, one of several parties who offered in excess of the £1 Million guide price. All of the bids received came from small to medium private developers looking to convert the premises from office use to residential flats, demonstrating that there is still strong demand for commercial properties with (or with scope for) Permitted Development Rights.

Hicks Baker represented Make-a-Wish Foundation on the simultaneous acquisition of their new ‘Hub’ and disposal of the Camberley building.

Mark Curtin, Director of Operation at Make a Wish Foundation, commented:

“Hicks Baker have been a first class highly professional, knowledgeable and effective partner for Make-A-Wish UK. We owe a huge amount to Steve Head and the team for the success of our whole relocation project. From the initial advice and guidance to execution of both the relocation and disposal of our offices, Hicks Baker always listened, fully understood and appreciated our organisational needs. We welcomed their challenges, their advice and their insight and as well as their professional skill and expertise. Hicks Baker also have a first rate network of partners who all contributed to supporting the charity through this significant milestone in our organisation’s history. We could not recommend Hicks Baker more highly… thank you Steve and all the team, a great job very well done.”
