Sweet deal for Colliers

Premium doughnut retailer Krispy Kreme UK has opened a new production facility in the Black Country.

The company has taken 3,638 sq ft at Black Country Park, Great Bridge, Tipton, on a ten year lease.

US-based Krispy Kreme has 46 outlets across the UK including Selfridges at the Bullring in Birmingham. Its new production facility forms part of a geographical expansion strategy that will see it deliver fresh doughnuts every day to doughnut  and coffee bars and Tesco cabinets the brand is planning across the Midlands.

In 2011, Krispy Kreme served more than 50 million doughnuts – enough to feed almost every person in the country – and one million cups of coffee.

Colliers International’s Automotive and Roadside team in Birmingham advised landlord Mitre Capital Partners Limited on the letting. Morgan Williams represented Krispy Kreme UK Limited.

John Roberts, director at Colliers International, said: “Black Country Park has excellent communication links and this together with our client’s flexible approach meant Krispy Kreme decided on this location above the many other schemes that are available in the area.”
