One of Bristol’s largest office buildings takes on two new tenants and extends major contract

Two new businesses have moved into one of Bristol’s landmark office buildings, Whitefriars.

Recruitment business Real-Time Consultants has taken 3,112 sq ft of office space on the first floor and solicitors DPG Law has taken 2,120 sq ft on the tenth floor. Joint agents JLL and Hartnell Taylor Cook, acting on behalf of the Topland Group of Companies, brokered the deals with rents of up to £17 per sq ft agreed.

This is in addition to insurance firm Zurich, which occupies 8,352 sq ft, extending its current lease to remain in the building.

Steve Lane, associate director in JLL’s Bristol office, said: “The success of Whitefriars is drawing considerable interest from a wide variety of occupiers. This is due in part to its central location, newly refurbished space, unrivalled parking ratio and onsite services such as a gym and conference facilities.”

Natalie Bennett, senior associate director in Hartnell Taylor Cook, said: “With other significant deals in the pipeline, the level of interest reflects Bristol’s highly successful and growing economy. The high degree of affordability and flexibility provided by the landlord means the building is suitable to a wide variety of occupiers and an onsite serviced office operator means expansion by rapidly-growing businesses can be easily supported.”

Refurbishment work has taken place as part of an ongoing building management and improvement programme. Alongside a light, airy reception area offering seating, WC facilities and plasma screen displays, the building management system aims to create a forward-thinking, contemporary working environment. Whitefriars includes 138,000 sq ft of space in total.

Steve Pope, group director at Topland, comments: “We are pleased to see recent lettings at Whitefriars continue our track record of providing great space in a central location, with an excellent range of “campus” facilities. Topland looks forward to announcing further transactions at the property soon, reinforcing Whitefriars’ position as Bristol city centre’s most cost-effective option for businesses.”
