Bruton Knowles’ Land Development specialist Richard Brogden has been appointed to a key position on the RICS Dispute Resolution Panel.

Gloucester-based Richard heads the firm’s Land Development team and was proud to be appointed to the panel, which helps people resolve Development Land disputes, typically regarding the value of a parcel of land.

Richard said: “If there is a dispute between landowners and developers, for instance on price, it can be resolved by an Independent Expert.

“It’s a final recourse if the parties cannot agree and may need a mechanism to drive things forward.”

Richard is a Partner at Bruton Knowles and works closely with landowners, promoters and housebuilders.

He is a specialist on advising and supporting housebuilders in meeting their requirements for residential land. He also works with local authorities, land promotion companies and public bodies throughout the development process from planning to sales.

Richard said: “I have gained considerable experience in this process from the initial identification and promotion of strategic land, through the planning process and on to the identification and securing of promoters.”

Richard also advises clients on the setting up of and negotiation of option and promotion agreements as well as providing viability appraisals for planning applications.
