River moves to Office Campus at Barnwood

River has taken a major leap forward by moving to new premises in Gloucester.

The employee engagement agency, formerly based across Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire, has taken a 10-year lease on the three-storey Building 1 (12,500 sq ft) at Office Campus @ Barnwood Point, owned by Robert Hitchins Ltd.

The move enables the company to bring its 100 staff into one building for the first time.

Director Nadia Di Luzio said: “We needed somewhere big enough for all our staff in a place where we could establish our own personality and Building 1 was a true blank canvas with amazing potential.

“Robert Hitchins worked with us in partnership from the outset, helping us to get in as quickly as possible and also introducing us to local firms and tradesmen who will help us maintain the premises.”

Robert Hitchins has carried out a full re-decoration of the building both internally and externally and gives River a good quality office for the long term.

The internal office fit-out and space planning function will be managed by River staff themselves.

“We help our clients and our staff have great days at work, so the team will be involved in creating their own working environment; at the moment we have a ‘ground floor working party’ to whom we have given a budget to look at ideas to bring that space to life. We’ve heard talk of walls you can write on, pool tables, sofas, collaborative working spaces and some great chill-out areas too,” said Nadia.

River, founded in 2001, was bought by its three Directors, Nadia Di Luzio, Claire West and Phil Dunk, in 2013 as part of a management buyout. They have worked together since 1996.

Asset and Development Manager for Robert Hitchins John Jones welcomed the agency to Office Campus.

“The arrival of River is great news for Office Campus @ Barnwood and for Gloucester,” he said.

“The refurbishment has been carried out to the highest standards, providing flexible floor space and excellent car parking on one of the main gateways to the city. It’s good to attract high-fliers from an industry which is going places.”

Robert Hitchins was represented by Alder King and KBW.
