The future looks bright for an ambitious training specialist embarking on expansion plans after securing a new city centre office from which to grow, in Birmingham.

Our Training Department Limited (OTD) has acquired new offices in the Jewellery Quarter, after appointing national commercial property consultants Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) to locate and secure its new premises.

OTD has agreed a five-year lease for the 1,309 sq ft second floor at 36-39 Ludgate Hill. It provides the space for the business to grow its existing team and raise its profile across the city and then the region.

The move also provides a more secure office solution for OTD, which was previously based in serviced offices at Birmingham’s Victoria Square, and presents a significant cost saving, too.

The OTD team has vast experience in a number of roles including senior sales management, sales training, account management and learning and development, allowing it to meet the complete range of outsourced training requirements.

It offers consultation on an array of aspects including coaching, team development, leadership, selling skills and presentation skills. Whatever the training solution, OTD has a number of industry leading and innovative approaches to driving positive changes through the implementation of the skills developed,

Charlotte Fullard, senior surveyor at LSH Birmingham, said: “We were briefed to identify a new premises for OTD, which would allow room for growth and represented a cost saving, too. This acquisition demonstrates our ability to save businesses time and money by sourcing suitable premises on their behalf, often at a cost saving.

“We can identify opportunities that occupiers might not necessarily find themselves and our market knowledge can secure favourable lease terms.”

Andy Crotty, director of operations at OTD, said: “This is a hugely important step for OTD, and provides the platform for us to grow our team and profile throughout the UK and internationally.

“To know we now have a great base for the years ahead provides a lot more security for the business and heralds a bright future for the company.

“We couldn’t be happier with the location. It is an ideal place for hosting client meetings and training workshops – with train stations only minutes away – many amenities within walking distance and the picturesque St Paul’s Square on our doorstep.”
