Megger expands into Kings Hill

Leading manufacturer of electrical test and measuring equipment Megger Limited has established a new facility at Kings Hill to accommodate its expansion plans in the UK and to house a new development team.

The company, which sells its products worldwide, already has a manufacturing base in Dover where it employs around 230 people and has chosen Kings Hill to take advantage of its location to augment the recruitment of high calibre engineers.

“Our Kings Hill base will house a satellite development team and initially we are looking to employ around eight engineers on site in a mix of disciplines – mechanical, hardware, software and a site lead,” said Bryan Phillips, Megger’s marketing and sales director.

“We intend to use the first year to hone the operation of our new base and will then review a further expansion.

“Kings Hill fitted the profile we wanted in terms of locale, with a better reach for engineering talent and yet close enough to Dover to be integrated into our development structure.”

People working at Kings Hill benefit from the business park’s on site shops, restaurants, sports and leisure amenities all set in extensive, award winning, landscaped grounds and, said Caroline Binns of Kings Hill developer Liberty Property Trust: “This is one of the main reasons for businesses moving here.

“We are also very close to major road and rail networks giving easy access to London, Europe and the rest of the country. The area also benefits from a highly skilled workforce both living here at Kings Hill in the residential village or in the locality. We are delighted Megger has decided to establish itself here.”
