Cushman & Wakefield appoints London healthcare specialist

David Kerr, Cushman & Wakefield

Cushman & Wakefield is expanding its fast-growing healthcare offering by appointing the capital’s leading independent specialist to lead its activity in central London.

David Kerr first established his healthcare property consultancy, David Kerr Associates Healthcare Property (DKAhp), in 2005, advising medical operators, landlords and developers on development acquisition and the leasing and letting of healthcare facilities.

Kerr, who joins Cushman & Wakefield’s London Markets team as a Partner, also has a strong track record of finding healthcare solutions for UK and overseas operators seeking to establish a presence in central London.

His arrival complements the firm’s impressive sector presence which encompasses both public and private healthcare. In particular Kerr will be working closely with Cushman & Wakefield’s national Healthcare Advisory team, led by Martin Robb, which has expanded rapidly in the private sector since it was established 18 months ago.

By joining forces with Kerr, the firm’s sector client base expands to include acting as healthcare property agents for Howard de Walden Estate, the Calthorpe Estate and Battersea Power Station, as well as advisors to private operators and the private divisions of various NHS Trusts including the Royal Brompton and Harefield Trust.

David Kerr, Partner, London Markets, Cushman & Wakefield, said “Cushman & Wakefield’s spectacular arrival in the Central London private healthcare market, advising and executing on the development of the Cleveland Clinic Hospital, under construction in Grosvenor Place as the first new London hospital for 30 years, put down an impressive marker. I am confident that this presence will continue to expand successfully over the next few years and am naturally delighted to be entrusted with driving that forwards in close cooperation with Martin Robb and his team.”

George Roberts, Head of London Markets, Cushman & Wakefield, said: “With David on board we are ideally placed to capitalise on a clear and rapidly-growing market opportunity which is underpinned by unarguable demographic trends. David is an experienced specialist with a high profile in the healthcare market and exceptional relationships with a wide network of operators. Allied to our scale and access to the major property players it is a winning combination for clients.”
