High calibre executives are being attracted away from the capital to take up new roles in the regions.

That’s according to property consultants Bruton Knowles, who say their ongoing success, coupled with a clear strategy for growth and a great working environment in which to develop and support each other is encouraging more London-based executives to the West.

Managing Partner Patrick Downes said: “We believe we have achieved the right balance between process driven and lifestyle business which really attracts those coming from larger organisations.”

The firm has made a number of senior appointments at the Gloucester headquarters aimed at steering the firm’s strategic development.

Their latest appointment is Anthony Martin, who moves from London-based Cluttons to join Bruton Knowles as Partner and Head of Valuation Faculty.

With key banking contacts including major financial institutions, Anthony will coordinate Bruton Knowles’ valuation teams across the office network to ensure consistent and high quality delivery.

He has also worked on valuation mandates and projects for a wide range of client groups including the Royal Society of Public Health, Westminster City Council, Newsquest Pension Fund, Eyre Estate, EIG, Pensions Trust, Helix Properties and the London Diocesan Fund.

Patrick Downes said: “Anthony is a highly experienced commercial property valuation specialist who has been working in London for more than 30 years.

“His appointment as Head of Valuation Faculty will ensure we continue to provide valuation services to the very highest standards across our UK network of 13 regional offices.”

Anthony Martin said: “There are big challenges ahead for the UK economy but it’s good to joining the Partnership in time to help steer the company through the latest phase of its development.

“Businesses need to be fleet of foot and able to adapt quickly to changing market conditions.”

Anthony will work on local and national client portfolios in conjunction with partners across Bruton Knowles’ regional network.

Anthony specialises in valuing core commercial and mixed use properties for investors, developers and owner-occupiers and is experienced handling national portfolios for institutional and corporate estates.

His appointment is one of a number of key senior appointments at Bruton Knowles.
