Manufacturing will be under the spotlight at the next Bristol and West of England China Bureau Pow Wow to be held in the city in September.

The popular business networking event will be hosted and sponsored by professional services specialists PwC at their 2 Glass Wharf HQ.

PwC UK’s China Business Group is unique in the professional services industry in the UK.

The firm has a dedicated team of bilingual specialists who provide in-depth knowledge of the markets, culture, legal systems, tax, accounting, auditing and regulatory framework in both the UK and China.

The Pow Wow starts at 6pm with networking and drinks followed by short introductions during which the China Bureau is honoured that Mr M A Manhe, Deputy Director General of Guangzhou Foreign Affairs Office will say a few words.

This will be followed by a talk from Jamie Shaw, China Business Adviser at CBBC.

At 7.15pm Aerospace expert James Willmott will outline his own personal experiences of dealing with and doing business in China, followed by further opportunity for networking.

Bureau Director of Business Initiatives Richard Lowe said: “Our September China Pow Wow will provide an opportunity to hear from local manufacturing professionals who will share their insight, experience and lessons during the evening over drinks and canapes.

“We are forging ever firmer foundations with our sister city of Guangzhou, the third largest city in China and the heart of one of the wealthiest provinces in China, Guangdong.

“Each year Guangzhou hosts the Canton Fair which is the largest trade fair in the world where manufacturers from across China and the world make a pilgrimage to exhibit and source their supply chains. With China’s plans to connect Guangdong’s eight major cities across the Pearl River Delta this will create an even more industrious manufacturing hub and the largest urban area in the world by 2030.”

The Pow Wow will be held on Thursday September 21 at PwC’s 2 Glass Wharf HQ, Bristol BS2 0FR from 6-8pm. The BWECB recommends you book early to avoid disappointment.
