Cushman & Wakefield has taken on two new hires for its business space investment team.

Ed Cornwell joins as Partner from BNP Paribas Real Estate where he spent 12 years as a Senior Director in the national investment team. He was focused on the buying and selling of business space investments – particularly in the logistics and industrial sector – throughout London, the South-East and Midlands.

During his last five years at the firm he undertook 50 transactions on behalf of institutional, property company and private investors; deals included the sale of a Tesco logistics unit in Croydon for £21m and a 400,000 sq ft logistics facility in Dagenham for £20.5m.

Prior to his tenure at BNP Paribas, Cornwell worked at PMB Holdings where he was responsible for sourcing, acquiring, managing and disposing of commercial property nationwide and also undertook rent reviews/lease renewals, lettings, tenant liaison and project management.

Ed Cornwell, Partner, Investment, Business Space, Cushman & Wakefield, said: “One of the principal reasons for joining Cushman & Wakefield is that the firm is at an exciting point in its evolution. I have already found the access to information and clients is extraordinary.

“My aim is to work closely with the agency teams in particular to create and identify suitable investment product and really build on the existing logistics and industrial capital markets offer to increase our profile with investor clients.”

Russell Nimmo has also joined Cushman & Wakefield’s business space investment team as Surveyor. He joins from Montagu Evans where he spent four years in its Edinburgh investment agency team. He worked on investments throughout Scotland and in all asset classes.

Russell Nimmo, Surveyor, Investment, Business Space, Cushman & Wakefield, said: “I am delighted to have moved to a market-leading team which has a range of key clients and instructions which provides an ideal platform to further my career. I look forward to building and adding to the strength of the industrial and business space teams.”

Cushman & Wakefield’s business space investment team has successfully completed a number of recent high-profile transactions including the sales of the JVCKENWOOD UK facility at Staples Corner for £51.85m; City Park, Welwyn, for £27m and Accolade Park, Avonmouth, for £62m.
