Robert Hitchins opens doors on refurbished office space in Cardiff

There was a winning atmosphere when developer Robert Hitchins Ltd opened the doors to its refurbished office space at Eastern Business Park in Cardiff.

More than 50 guests attended the launch event which began with breakfast, was followed by a tour of the Business Park complete with a reality headset experience, and ended with the chance to watch the British and Irish Lions thrash the Waikato Chiefs by 34 points to 6.

Robert Hitchins Ltd has invested more than £750,000 in Eastern One, one of three office buildings on the 12-acre, campus-style business park at St Mellons.

The nine-month internal refurbishment included stripping back the internal layout and installing new raised floors, suspended ceilings, LED lighting and a new VRV air conditioning system on the second floor.

The end result are suites of between 5,000 and 40,000 sq ft on a single floorplate suitable for immediate occupation.

The reception area on the ground floor has also been refurbished and rebranded and now boasts break-out areas for informal meetings.

Robert Hitchins’ Asset and Development Manager John Jones welcomed guests to the opening.

“Cardiff is a great place to do business and we’re very proud to be part of its success. This project is another indicator of our continued investment in the Eastern Business Park and South Wales.”

Eastern Business Park is on the eastern outskirts of the city with excellent access to the M4 and A48.

Its three buildings offer a total 170,000 sq ft and benefit from a restaurant, fitness suite, conference centre, meeting rooms, creche, excellent car parking, bike storage, 24-hour access and on-site management.

It provides a wide range of modern offices from small starter suites to large flexible floorplates.

Tenants at Eastern Business Park include architects Powell Dobson, CafeX Ltd, E-On UK plc, Laing O’Rourke Construction Ltd, Taylor Wimpey UK Ltd and the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
