The University of Southampton Science Park has been named Work Place Environment of the Year at the 2017 South Coast Property Awards which took place on Thursday 13th July. The success builds on the Science Park’s success in 2016 when it was named Business Park of the Year.

The Work Place Environment of the Year award recognises organisations that have used their property strategy to create quality working styles, increase productivity, innovative working environments and engender open, inclusive work cultures.

Peter Birkett, CEO of the Science Park, received the award. He said: “We are delighted to be named the South Coast’s Work Place Environment of the Year and to have been nominated in the category of Development of the Year for our new office accommodation, 5 Benham Campus.

“Success in these two, very different, categories demonstrates that we are so much more than a property business. Our ‘ABC’ (accommodation, business support and community) proposition is proving to be of considerable benefit to the nearly 100 companies and employees based here. Importantly too, it offers a compelling and exciting prospect for science and technology businesses looking for a base in the South of England.”

BBC presenter Jeremy Vine hosted The South Coast Property Awards which is designed to highlight outstanding talent in the commercial and residential property sectors and bring the community together to celebrate the important role it plays in growing the region’s economy.
