Run of deals at Marchwood site

Acting on behalf of Oceanic Estates, commercial property consultancies Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) and Jones Lang Lasalle have completed a run of deals at Marchwood Industrial Park, Southampton.

Marchwood Scientific has signed for 3,621 sq ft at unit B4.2, and Alternative Cruise Parking has taken a lease on a site for its parking facilities. In addition, Splash Displays and Hilite Design have both taken office space within the main site security office and a national occupier has signed for a 2.75 acre site for a year.

Marchwood is a 57 hectare (140 acre) estate, and is well known in the area as the former Marchwood power station. It is also one of the largest industrial schemes in the South, offering industrial, warehouse and open storage sites as well as one of the few Design & Build opportunities in the area.

Adrian Whitfield, Director in LSH’s South Coast Agency team, commented: “These latest deals follow in the wake of a brand new facility built in 2011 for Brockenhurst College, and we are in discussions with potential occupiers interested in Design & Build opportunities elsewhere on the park. The scale and flexibility of the scheme to offer a range of different property types and sizes puts Marchwood in an ideal position to attract expanding occupiers from outside and within the area.”

Matthew Poplett, Director at Jones Lang LaSalle’s Industrial and Logistics Agency team in Southampton, added: “Marchwood Industrial Park is in a great location with easy access to the motorway network, the Docks and Southampton International Airport. The diverse range of uses which can be accommodated here means it is suitable for the majority of occupiers from large multi-nationals through to small local companies. Having Southampton Water on one side and easy access to the New Forest on the other also makes it a rather rare situation for an industrial and business park.”

Sites A3.2 and A3.3 of 0.67 acre and 0.38 acre respectively are currently available and being marketed. The sites can be combined with industrial buildings of up to 6,000 sq ft. A number of office suites are also available from 100-3,000 sq ft.
