A national warehousing and distribution company have leased a 250,000 sqft unit north of Newport as part of their planned business expansion.

E-Warehousing who currently operate from a 35,000 sqft facility in Kenilworth will be using the larger open plan warehouse to provide flexible pallet and loose bulk storage facilities for their growing client base including high street retailers, importers, manufacturing and processing businesses and hauliers.

15 jobs have been created by the company in the new unit to provide clients with a comprehensive storage service that includes a fleet of fork lifts to unload and pack shipping containers, a bespoke warehouse management system and security.

The company had visited different sites around the UK before choosing the unit in South Wales.

Explaining their decision to choose South East Wales as a location, Paul Seward, managing director of E-Warehousing said, “Our business model is based on offering completely flexible storage and distribution services without any minimum contracts or quantities at the lowest prices in the market place. The new unit enables us to offer this as well as providing good transport links around the UK with its close proximity to the M4 and M5. The unit itself is very versatile, enabling us to designate areas for specific storage i.e. pallets, crates loose bulk and ugly freight as well as providing purpose built loading bays for HGV’s.”

Initial interest in the new facility has resulted in E-Warehousing already securing new clients for their warehouse including The Range who are using the warehouse as a distribution centre to store 5,000 pallets.

The terms of the lease have not been disclosed.
