Top leisure brands choose intu for Scottish expansion

intu, owner of many of the UK’s most popular retail and leisure destinations, is adding two top leisure brands to its mix at intu Braehead.

The Cocoabean Company (The Cocoabean) and GraVity, the UK’s premium trampoline park brand, will open their doors at Soar at intu Braehead later this year. Both leisure activities have chosen intu Braehead as part of their expansion plans in Scotland and will provide the ultimate family experience to 17 million customers visiting the retail and leisure destination each year.

GraVity will take 23,500 sq ft of space for its trampoline park which will have a number of sports and fitness activities so customers can get fit or simply jump for fun. The 5,000 sq ft space occupied by The Cocoabean will include interactive chocolate making workshops for adults and children as well as a chocolate café and shop.

Simone Smith from The Cocoabean, Braehead, said: “Soar at intu Braehead is a leisure destination jam-packed with fun activities and so was the perfect fit for us to reach intu’s high footfall of customers.”

Harvey Jenkinson, co-founder and chief executive officer from GraVity, said: “We’re very excited to be bringing GraVity to intu Braehead. The attraction will provide high quality, fun-filled leisure experiences to customers of all ages.”

Climbzone, intu Braehead’s existing popular adventure zone, will also see enhancements made to its leisure offering, with a brand new helix slide and an upgraded reception and public access areas.

Kate Grant, regional managing director from intu, said: “The Cocoabean, GraVity and Climbzone are great examples of how we’re enhancing our leisure offering across our centres to encourage our customers to come back more often and stay for longer. intu Braehead has a great leisure offering including  a ski slope, family attractions and extreme activities all under one roof.”
