Freehold office building sold to Cambridgeshire County Council

Barker Storey Matthews Huntingdon office, acting on behalf of Artisan (UK) Properties Ltd, has arranged for the sale of Vantage House at Vantage Park, Washingley Road, Huntingdon to Cambridgeshire County Council.

The 8,000 sq ft, two storey, modern detached office building, which has 51 parking spaces, has been purchased by the County Council for use as offices for its Highways Department function and fitting out works have commenced.

Well known regional developer, Artisan – who built Vantage Park and has been based in Vantage House since December 2000 – has now moved to nearby offices in Unit 2b on the Park.

Richard Adam, Director, Barker Storey Matthews who, in conjunction with Savills, handled the sale on behalf of Artisan, commented, “The sale of Vantage House comes on the back of a sustained period of office sales and lettings within the Huntingdon market over recent months which has totalled in excess of 25,000 sq ft.

“The local office market has improved to the point where there are relatively few larger offices available. The town has attracted increased interest from occupiers and commercial property investors since the A14 construction works got underway as the upgrade will, undoubtedly, improve accessibility throughout the area.”
