This year’ s Colliers Bristol TRYathlon – organised by commercial property specialist Colliers International – has sold out more than a month ahead of the event.
The event takes place on Friday June 16 and has a maximum of 250 competitors places – which have now been have filled, with many being booked by returning competitors.
Head of the Bristol office of Colliers International, Tim Davies, said: “The TRYathlon has gone from strength to strength since it launched in 2013, but the fact that it has sold out almost two months in advance this year has surpassed our expectations.
“We are delighted that so many professionals are keen to take part in what is always an excellent fund-raising event with an emphasis upon trying and having fun. It is especially pleasing to see familiar faces who have taken part in previous years entering again.”
Mr Davies, who always takes part in the TRYathlon as an individual, added: “If anyone is interested in participating they should still get in touch, as we are running a waiting list of people who would like to compete if anyone drops out.”
The Bristol TRYathlon is aimed at professionals and takes place at Tockington Manor, near Bristol. Competitors have to swim 400m, cycle 16km, and run 5km, either as members of teams of three or as individuals.
Last year’s event featured participants from 52 leading organisations, including Arup, Clarke Willmott LLP, Grafton Group, Eagle One, Bristol City Council, Quality Solicitors Burroughs Day, Beach Baker Recruitment and Quarter.
Also competing as individuals and teams were representatives from Colliers International offices from around the UK, among them Tony Horrell, the company’s chief executive for the UK and Ireland, who ran 5km as part of a relay team.
All entry fees go to charity, and last year over £5,000 was raised for Wooden Spoon Bristol & Bath, which aims to transform the lives of disadvantaged and disabled children and young people through the power of rugby. The chosen charity for the 2017 Bristol TRYathlon is the West of England MS Therapy Centre, which provides treatments and therapies for people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and other neurological conditions.
