New regional head office takes shape as steels go up at Skypark

The new head office, for one of the region’s key employers, DCH, is starting to take shape, as the steel frame goes up this month, at the £210m Skypark development near Exeter.

When it completes in early 2018, the new office building will provide 30,000 sq ft of modern energy efficient head office space for this major local housing group with easy access onto the nearby junction 29 of the M5 motorway.

Businesses locating to Skypark will also benefit from the long-term business growth and investment opportunities provided by the newly established Exeter & East Devon Enterprise Zone, granting simplified planning, business support and investment in key infrastructure.

Ian Guy, Senior Development Manager for St. Modwen, Devon County Council’s development partner at Skypark, said:

“The new head office for DCH is one of two premises currently underway at Skypark, which alongside the second speculative unit, is being built in response to strong local demand for high quality commercial space.  When the development completes, in the next 20 years, Skypark will provide up to 1.4 million sq ft of industrial and office space with potential for up to 6,500 jobs.  The development also now benefits from Enterprise Zone status which will further enhance the site’s commercial appeal and help to attract more inward investment and business occupiers to the area long term.”

Any businesses interested in rent or purchase opportunities at Skypark should contact St. Modwen’s agents JLL or Alder King.
