Flying Horse Walk ‘reins’ in another new tenant

A new fashion boutique has galloped into city shopping arcade the Flying Horse Walk in a deal secured by property agents FHP.

The arcade has welcomed Stick & Ribbon, a private shopping and personal styling service, into Unit 3 in Flying Horse Walk, which totals 2,383 sq ft and is directly opposite Vivienne Westwood. This is the fourth letting by FHP at the centre since January.

Stick & Ribbon is owned by Pippa Rees and Sally Longden, who are both trained stylists and image consultants. They recently rented a unit in Bridlesmith Gate as a pop-up shop to test the need for the type of shopping experience they want to offer in Nottingham.

The Flying Horse Walk was acquired by London & County (Nottingham LLP) in September last year, Simon Blair of London & County said: “This is another positive addition to the arcade. Stick & Ribbon is a unique and niche boutique that will certainly fit well with the other established retailers already located there.

“We have already welcomed three other retailers since January including Nottingham’s flagship branch of men’s fashion store High & Mighty, European clothing line Rejoice Flowers Manufactory and independent jewellery and accessory store Trendy Feel. In what continues to be a difficult climate for retailers, it is great news for Nottingham that we are still attracting these high end and unique stores. We feel that Flying Horse Walk offers shoppers something different and is a real destination arcade, making us stand out from the other centres.”

Other occupiers in Flying Horse Walk include The Cheese Shop, Atomic, Whitewall Gallery, George Thornton Art, High & Mighty, Cathy Stephens, Sugacane and Trendy Feel

Sally Longden of Stick & Ribbon says: ”We are delighted to be joining Flying Horse Walk as we feel that the shoppers who visit the arcade fit well with our target market. The types of shops already located here are aspirational and people will travel to visit them. They have real personality and we feel that we fit into this bracket. We set up the company two and a half years ago offering private shopping and personal styling as well as creating lots of events for charities and local businesses. Not only do we offer a range of niche clothing brands, but all Stick & Ribbon staff are trained stylists and image consultants, so women can come and shop whilst receiving advice if they want it. We are confident that we will do well in the arcade as it is a retail environment that lends itself perfectly to boutique shopping.”

The Flying Horse Walk is being marketed by property consultants FHP. Frankie Labbate of FHP says: “Flying Horse Walk is continuing to attract interest from a large number of retailers because of its unique offering. It is centrally located and is close to Nottingham’s prime retail pitch of Bridlesmith Gate, which is a big draw for shoppers. We have had a large amount of interest in the remaining units too, which are available on affordable rents and flexible deals.”
