Quay Place move heralds bright new era for Birmingham services giant

Birmingham multi-service provider Acivico have recently moved their operation into new premises as part of their continuing journey to enhance their position as a commercial entity.

A total of 240 employees from the firm, who were previously been based at Lancaster House, have now moved into modern new premises at Louisa House in the Quay Side area of the city.

Although Acivico is wholly owned by Birmingham City Council, the firm have been trading commercially since 2012 and have developed a vast and diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients.

Their services include building consultancy, design and construction, facilities management, catering and hospitality, as well as managing Birmingham City Laboratories which offers testing and analysis for public and private clients.

The move has come as part of plans to improve the experience of customers, promote efficiencies, become more agile and develop a positive new culture as a trading company in its own right, as well as growing income streams for both Acivico and Birmingham City Council.

Louisa House features sleek and modern design, high-tech conference facilities and Acivico’s own Pause Café Quay, which will serve both Acivico and the other businesses based at Quay Place.

Taking 12 weeks to complete, the refurbishment work was carried out by national fit-out firm Overbury under the Constructing West Midlands Framework.

This included the fit-out of a bright and modern reception area, break-out areas and suite of meetings rooms on the ground floor, as well as open-plan office spaces with internal cellular offices, pods and further break-out spaces completed to a modern design.

The work also provides a showcase for Acivico’s services, including architectural design, interior design, mechanical and electrical engineering and structural consultancy.

Trevor Haynes, Chief Executive at Acivico, said: “Our move to Louisa House represents an exciting new phase in the young life of Acivico; not only is it a terrific showcase of what our talented team can do, but it’s a crucial important step for us in establishing a permanent home that will set us apart as a company in our own right.

“Being based in these sleek and professional headquarters in the heart of the scenic central Birmingham waterways is already proving to be an excellent base from which to continue delivering quality services throughout Birmingham, the West Midlands and beyond.”
