Leading Sheffield based contractor and developer JF Finnegan has announced a recent team expansion, with four new appointments to support a period of growth for the business with several high-profile instructions set to be unveiled in the forthcoming weeks.

Richard Hudson takes up the role of General Foreman with Andrew Arbon-Davis joining as Senior Estimator – both returning to JF Finnegan.  James Stobbs is appointed as Senior Quantity Surveyor and Bradley Thompson as Assistant Quantity Surveyor.

Richard Hudson returns to the Sheffield firm as General Foreman.  After serving his joinery apprenticeship with JF Finnegan in 2005 he remained with the business until 2011.  Richard returns to the business following roles with construction firms in the UK and Australia and is currently supporting on key contracts in the Sheffield region.

Andrew Arbon-Davis also re-joins JF Finnegan after 18 years, during which time his career progressed at Loach Construction & Development Limited in Nottingham, being responsible for pre construction activity.  Andrew’s new role at JF Finnegan is Senior Estimator and his vast experience is a welcome addition to the pre construction team.

James Stobbs joins as Senior Quantity Surveyor.  An experienced quantity surveyor, James previously worked for Henry Boot Construction on diverse projects across several sectors and his experience and technical knowledge spans a wide range of areas from civils and groundworks, social housing and refurbishments to school projects, commercial new builds and mixed use developments.

Bradley Thompson joins the team as Assistant Quantity Surveyor with a BSc in Economics and having completed his first year Masters in Quantity Surveying in Sheffield in 2016, working previously as a sales negotiator and residential valuer for a leading estate agent, he will be developing his Quantity Surveying role within the JF Finnegan team.

The team expansion follows a series of successful projects for JF Finnegan in 2016, including completion of a £7M contract to build the 103 bedroom Hampton by Hilton Oxford hotel and the transformation of two historic mill buildings into 75,000 sq ft of new offices at the established Dean Clough development in Halifax, West Yorkshire.  In September the company was awarded a £3.5M design and build contract by Harworth Estates to create a new scheme of speculatively developed manufacturing units, totalling 52,000 sq ft, at the Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP) in Waverley, Rotherham.

Gary Smith, Managing Director at JF Finnegan, said, “It is an exciting time to expand the business, as we approach the new and varied projects in the pipeline for the forthcoming months. We bolstered our client base in 2016 and delivered impressive schemes, including a private membership club for Costco UK next to Wembley Stadium and industrial units for Ackroyd & Abbott in South Yorkshire and a new Sheffield headquarters for Westfield Health. We enter 2017 with a positive outlook for the 12 months ahead and are delighted to be welcoming both familiar and new faces to the JF Finnegan team.”
