Cardiff-based allergen testing business Indoor Biotechnologies has moved to new offices and laboratory facility at Vision Court in Pentwyn.

Indoor Biotechnologies has moved from the Cardiff Medicentre biotech and medtech incubation hub, where it has been based for the past four years. Property adviser Knight Frank advised the company in taking a 10 year lease on 4,500 sq ft ground floor offices at Vision Court at a rental of £14.35 per sq ft. The landlord was represented by Fletcher Morgan.

Indoor Biotechnologies now trades in more than 50 countries. Clients include allergists and immunologists from academia, government, pharmaceutical and diagnostic companies, as well as consumers in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Australasia.

It recently launched a sister company in India, with new laboratory and offices in the Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre, headed up by former Cardiff University School of Medicine faculty student Dr Sivasankar Baalasubramanian, an immunology specialist and entrepreneur.

Dr James Hindley, Executive Director of Indoor Biotechnologies, said: “We create allergen detection kits that improve environmental and indoor air quality, as well as food safety relevant to allergy sufferers.”

Mark Sutton, partner at Knight Frank who represented Indoor Biotechnologies, said: “Indoor Biotechnologies is a real Cardiff success story and we were delighted to be able to assist James in securing new larger premises and create the right environment to enable the company to continue to grow. Having reviewed various options Vision Court was a good fit and well suited the search parameters.”

Vision Court is a development of new offices providing over 35,000 sq ft of office accommodation from 1,800 sq ft upwards.  The office complex is already home to Offices Visions, Comtec , Eysys  and MWH.

Simon Gambarini, managing director of Office Visions, said: “We are delighted to welcome James and the Indoor Biotechnologies team to Vision Court and have been able to use our expertise at Office Visions to work with Indoor Biotechnologies to tailor the accommodation and fit out and thus cater for their exact needs.”

John James of Fletcher Morgan who acted on behalf of the Landlord in the letting said: “Vision Court provides one of the few Grade A out of town office buildings in Cardiff and Office Visions have done a fantastic job in creating a high quality building and environment.  We currently have up to 8,689 sq ft of quality office space available.”

Knight Frank is also managing out the fit-out of the new offices by Office Visions, tailoring the shell unit to the company’s specific laboratory and office requirements.
