Leicester Rider now driver of new company car

Leicester Rider Conner Washington receives his new Volvo from Martin Ward, Director of Mather Jamie, outside the Leicester Sports Arena.

A player for Leicester Riders has been given a brand new car as part of a sponsorship deal from local property experts Mather Jamie.

Conner Washington, Point-Guard for the top flight Basketball team, who recently started his fifth year with the team, received the new Volvo V40 T2 Momentum, complete with distinctive Leicester Riders branding, as part of his continuing sponsorship from the firm.

The car will be his to use for the duration of Conner’s current two year contract with the club, mainly for travelling to and from training and his home in Loughborough..

Conner, 24, said: “The new Volvo is a great car and a smooth ride, and it’s a real privilege to receive it from my sponsors at Mather Jamie. I’m very proud of driving a car that has Leicester Riders branding on it, because this is a team I’m proud to be part of and represent while out and about.”

As well as being a rising star for the Leicester Rider’s first team, the number 13 player, who graduated from Loughborough University with a degree in Sports Science earlier this year, has been featured increasingly as one of the faces of the British Basketball League.

Martin Ward, Director of Mather Jamie, said, “We’re very happy to continue our support for the Leicester Riders, and our support for Conner in the early stages of his career, by providing this new car for him.”
