A new competition for businesses across Staffordshire has been launched today (Monday 2nd April 2012) which could see one business winning up to £5,000 worth of Public Relations support from leading communications agency Purple Sprout.

The competition is aimed at new businesses which have been trading for at least six months and are no more than three years old, and which have an innovation focus.

Supported by Trentham based communications agency Purple Sprout and the Staffordshire Business Innovation Centre (BIC) the competition is designed to give new businesses a helping hand and the tools they need to communicate their products and services to their target audience.

Jade Griffin, Account Executive at Purple Sprout commented: “We understand that in the first stages of launching a new business, being able to communicate effectively to your target audience is crucial to securing a customer base.”

“Purple Sprout has well rooted contacts and excellent industry experience, with a fresh approach to PR our main aim in the competition is to provide a service which helps innovative businesses in Staffordshire to grow to their full potential.”

Sandra Butterworth, Director of Innovation, BIC commented: “The Business Innovation Centre is happy to be supporting Purple Sprout’s competition to find a promising innovative business to work with.
“It is great to see them expanding and offering their expertise to help another local business, putting something back into the business community!  We also look forward to working with some of the competition entrants. Good luck to everyone entering!”

The first of three rounds consists of 8 questions which need to be successfully answered to then progress onto the next stage of the competition.
