Blackstone secures Deliveroo letting at the River Building

Blackstone has signed online restaurant delivery company Deliveroo as the first tenant for the 94,000 sq ft River Building, part of the Cannon Bridge House Development in the City of London.

The rapidly growing company will relocate from its current base in Fitzrovia to establish its new UK headquarters on the first floor of the River Building, occupying 50,000 sq ft.

Blackstone has undertaken a major refurbishment of the River Building since acquiring the Cannon Bridge House development in early 2015.  The two-floor building now offers efficient, expansive floorplates with panoramic views of the River Thames, with access to a stunning roof garden.

Nick Pearce, Leasing Manager at Blackstone Property Management, said:  “Attracting such a rapidly growing company from the West End to the City represents a real coup, and is testimony to the quality of the River Building.  The interior has undergone a complete transformation, while remaining true to its heritage.

“We are seeing strong occupier interest in the second floor of the building, and are confident of securing a tenant to join Deliveroo ahead of the refurbishment work completing in the Spring of next year.”

Earlier this year Blackstone secured the leasing of 21,000 sq ft at Cannon Bridge House to Historic England, part of the Department for Culture Media and Sport.  The government agency joins a range of companies already based in the 285,000 sq ft prime office building at 25 Dowgate Hill, EC4, including Natixis, IG Group Holdings and Winterflood Securities.

Savills and GM Real Estate are the appointed joint letting agents.  BDG Sparkes Porter acted for Deliveroo.
