A corporate advisory firm established at the start of 2016 has strengthened its team on the back of strong growth with the appointment of a new corporate finance associate.

John Tose, 22, from Warwickshire, joins Cardiff-based Lexington Corporate Advisors following his participation in the corporate sponsored Santander Universities SME Internship programme in partnership with Cardiff University.

Mr Tose recently graduated from Cardiff University with a 2:1 in Economics and previously worked for a real estate advisory firm in Hong Kong before returning to the UK to complete his studies in Cardiff.

He will now work alongside Lexington’s co-founders Nigel Greenaway and Gary Partridge on corporate finance projects, where he will be responsible for assisting with financial analysis, transaction project management and corporate research.

The Santander Universities SME Internship programme looks to improve graduates’ employability by partnering with universities and local businesses throughout the UK to offer good quality internships across a range of sectors.

Gary Partridge, director of Lexington Corporate Advisors, said: “We approached Cardiff University’s graduate career’s service with a view to tapping into the young talent on our doorstep.

“The Santander Universities internship programme stood out as an excellent way in which we could create and broaden links with the University and provide an excellent opportunity for graduates to experience life in a leading corporate finance advisory firm.

“There were a large number of exceptional Cardiff University undergraduates who applied for the internship role with Lexington and it was a very difficult decision to make but John’s maturity and enthusiasm combined with his relevant previous experience in Hong Kong made him stand out from the other talented individuals. We’re now looking forward to helping him further develop his career in his permanent role with Lexington.”

John Tose said: “Since its formation earlier this year, Lexington has grown and made its mark as a leading corporate advisory firm. When the opportunity arose to work at Lexington, I instantly applied for the position and I’m absolutely delighted to have been selected when there was a lot of competition.

“Both Gary and Nigel are extremely experienced and I’m keen to learn from them and work within a fast moving environment.”

Anneka Bisi, internship project officer at Cardiff University, said: “Our SME Internship scheme has become extremely popular with both smaller businesses and graduates looking to obtain valuable experience within the sectors they wish to target.

“Since the scheme was introduced in 2012, Santander Universities has created 120 internships for Cardiff University students and we are delighted that Lexington has joined as a valuable business. We think John is a great fit for Lexington and we wish him the best of luck.”

Lexington Corporate Advisors was set up in January 2016 by Gary Partridge and Nigel Greenaway. The entrepreneurial advisory boutique specialises in providing strategic advice targeted at business growth, acquisitions, disposals and fund raising.

Drawing upon Gary and Nigel’s combined network, knowledge and over 40 years’ experience of working in corporate finance, Lexington works right across the UK as Lead Advisor providing hands-on, trusted advice to companies and their owners seeking to facilitate growth and crystallise value.
