Window of opportunity as Pennycuick Collins appointed to lead Reynaers expansion

A leading European manufacturer of aluminium doors and windows has appointed Birmingham-based chartered surveyors Pennycuick Collins to help it complete its latest expansion plans.

Reynaers, which designs premium doors, windows, curtain walling and façades, has appointed the independent surveyors to project manage the extension and refurbishment of its new British headquarters in Hollymoor Way, Rubery.

The move comes as the company has outgrown its existing premises in Kettles Wood Drive, Woodgate Valley.

Adrian Roddick, partner at Pennycuick Collins, acquired the 53,000 sq ft premises on behalf of the manufacturer and was commissioned to lead the extension and refurbishment plans. Work has just begun on site and the anticipated completion date is December this year. The total cost of the project is £3.5 million.

“I have developed a good working relationship with Reynaers since I first acted for the company back in 1998 in project managing the construction of its existing premises,” said Adrian.

“We also project-managed an extension there eight years later, so we were delighted when we were asked to find Reynaers  a new home and were then appointed as employer’s agent and project manager for this exciting new chapter in the company’s history.”

The new, extended premises, which were formerly occupied by automotive company Dräxlmaier, will create an additional 20,000 sq ft of warehouse space and an extra 9,500 sq ft of high quality offices for the growing construction company.

John McComb, director of technical services of Reynaers, said: “Our new premises gives us about two and half times the office and warehouse space we have at the moment.

“We have some exciting new products that are coming to market this year, and we have plans to increase our stock levels, enabling us to offer industry-leading levels of customer service. The move will pave the way for further sales growth over the coming years, and we expect that this will mean employment opportunities, too.”

A&H Construction, from Halesowen, has been appointed to undertake the building work, while Birmingham-based D5 Architects has drawn up the plans for the new Reynaer’s HQ, which will showcase the specialist’s portfolio of curtain walling windows, and sliding and bi-fold doors.
