Cooke & Arkwright has secured new offices for Cardiff University at Friary House, in one of the largest city centre lettings this year. The University has taken three floors – totalling 29,000 sq ft – in Friary House on Greyfriars Road, for a combination of administration and teaching uses.
The premises will house new studio space for the University’s School of Architecture as well as provide space for professional services staff.
Surrounded by a mixture of uses, including offices, hotels, residential and retail, Friary House is an eight-storey building arranged over basement, ground and eight upper floors. The basement, ground and first floor of the building are occupied by Tiger Tiger.
Ben Bolton, Director at Cooke & Arkwright, said: “We were pleased to advise Cardiff University to acquire 29,000 sq ft at Friary House. The brief was to find cost-effective central space for teaching and administration near to existing University buildings, so Friary House was an ideal fit in the right location.
“We’re still actively working with the University to secure a new home for the School of Journalism of approximately 40,000 sq ft.”
