Shropshire businesses join together to help new start-ups

Organisations across Shropshire which provide free help and support for start-up businesses are being urged to add their details to a new website in order to publicise their events.

www.startassist.com is an online scheme launched to provide a support network from established Shropshire businesses to new start-up firms in the county.

New businesses – whether a sole trader or a larger company – can visit the website to find out information, get advice and, if they wish, sign up to the StartAssist scheme and gain a web presence.

And Janet Dale, of it’seeze Web Design, who founded the site along with Nigel Lomax, of TaxAssist Accountants is hoping other similar schemes in the county will add their details to www.startassist.com

She said: “We want to provide an online source for people who have recently launched a business or are thinking about launching a business to read through and gain information from.

“Our sponsors are all established businesses in the county willing to give their help and advice on a wide variety of subjects.

“Launching a business can be very difficult, especially if you are a sole-trader, but those launching a business in Shropshire are not alone and we want to help as much as we can.

“We hope this is going to be a huge support for the businesses in that nervous time when they are not sure what is ahead – our aim is to make sure their venture is successful.

“Bringing together all of the schemes, training courses, advice and information available across the county will hopefully provide a one-stop shop for them.”
