Notts firm secures sale for international company

An international business specialising in industrial control systems will be relocating to Bingham this year, after brokering a deal with leading property consultants Bruton Knowles.

Currently based in Cotgrave, Commander Controls beat a number of other competitive bidders to secure three connecting industrial units on Moorbridge Road in Bingham.

Boasting more than 6000 sq ft and containing two floors each, the units will be used for office space and electronic production by the company, when it relocates next month (May).

Associate at Bruton Knowles’ Nottingham office, Sam Spencer, worked on the deal.

He said: “We are thrilled to have helped bring an innovative and successful business to the Bingham area, by selling three great units to Commander Controls.

“The former home to bouncy castle company, Air Inflatables, was put on the market in July and we had significant interest for the site with more than 30 enquires. This in turn led to some competitive bidding and as a result, the property was sold 18 per cent above its original asking price earlier this year.

“Bingham was a huge draw for both Commander Controls and other bidders. Having previously been enhanced by the A46, the area is a great up-and-coming location for businesses in the East Midlands and the community is expected to grow even further over the next 12 months.

“As a result, Bruton Knowles has recently secured a number of deals in the area, including a car wash site which is due to open this month.”

Working internationally across the UK, Europe, Asia and Africa, Commander Controls supplies electronic systems and parts for the aerospace, military and steel industries.

Managing director at Commander Controls, Bill Wood, said: “The three units instantly appealed to us due to the great location and price.

“Throughout the region, there are very few properties which are suitable for SMEs. Our company also has certain requirements that need to be met, including a high level of cleanliness to build the electronics. The three units matched these expectations in every way.

“Bruton Knowles was an excellent consultancy to work with, offering guidance and assistance every step of the way to ensure the sale ran smoothly. We are looking forward to moving into our new surroundings very soon.”
