The Salvation Army appoints CBRE as its global real estate advisor

The Salvation Army International Trustee Company has appointed CBRE as its first global real estate advisor following a competitive tender process.

The Salvation Army, a church that is also one of the world’s most respected providers of social services, has its international headquarters in the City of London and operates in 124 countries. CBRE will provide The Salvation Army International Trustee Company with strategic property advice, transaction management and project management services for an extensive portfolio of offices, residential buildings, hospitals, churches and schools on a global basis.

Commissioner Ann Woodall, Managing Director of the Company, said: “For us the global recession has brought a sharper focus on strategic priorities and in particular the management of our property portfolio.  We therefore require a property advisor who can help to develop our asset base in the interests of The Salvation Army, its tenants and all the people we help across the globe.”

Nick Lambert, Head of Complex and Emerging Markets, CBRE, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with The Salvation Army. Bringing together CBRE’s global network and the specialist skills of Source8, the leading emerging markets consultancy, enables us to advise The Salvation Army on the ground in every jurisdiction in which they operate, and help to drive efficiencies across their portfolio.”

Simon Venn, Chief Executive Officer, Source8, said: “It gives me an enormous sense of pride to be working with such a highly regarded organisation such as The Salvation Army, to deliver their real estate requirements across complex and emerging markets worldwide. I have every confidence that the team will foster a very positive working relationship with The Salvation Army in 2012 and beyond.”
