One of the East Midlands’ most successful property agents is marking 25 years in business with plans to expand in 2016.

Mather Jamie, which is based in Loughborough and currently employs 24 full and part-time staff members, led by four Directors, has grown from its modest beginnings in Rectory Place in 1991, into purpose built modern office accommodation on Weldon Road in 2007, which, through sustained growth, is being doubled in size this year thanks to a major office refit.

In Leicestershire alone, the firm, which celebrates 25 years in business on 1st February 2016, has been responsible for deals that have led to the creation of Meridian business park, the suburb of Hamilton and the commercial and residential development of Lubbesthorpe Way, amongst other big local developments.

Martin Ward, Director at Mather Jamie, who jointly founded the business on February 1st 1991, said, “We’ve seen a lot of changes in the area over the last two and a half decades. For example, when this business began most of our work was the management of rural estates and commercial agency and management. Since then, we have grown into a business providing independent professional property advice and specialising in the delivery and sale of residential and commercial development land.”

“We’re all very proud to be part of a company that has been instrumental in Leicestershire’s development over the last 25 years, seeing through deals which have led to the creation of new communities, new businesses and new facilities for local people to use and enjoy.”

The specialist residential and employment land development agency, which consumes a substantial amount of professional time for Directors Martin Ward, Robert Cole and Andrew Bamber, has long been the mainstay of this independent business, with a residential pipeline of strategic land of many thousands of acres, which translates into potentially over 40,000 new homes across the East Midlands and beyond.

Robert Cole, Director at Mather Jamie, who joined the firm in 1994 as an Assistant Land Agent, said, “25 years is a long time to be operating in our sector, and in that time we’ve amassed a huge amount of expertise in the local land market, as well as many loyal clients, some of whom have remained with us since the company started. I’d like to congratulate and pay tribute all our hard working staff who make this possible, and I look forward to the next 25 years.”

The commercial side of the business, headed up by Director Alex Reid, who joined the business in 2002, now actively manages 315 commercial properties, 10 business parks and is currently marketing 41 industrial units, 35 offices and 24 retail premises with new stock changing weekly due to the current fast moving market.

Mather Jamie also have three new developer-led business park opportunities coming forward across the county which will bring forward the opportunity of circa 800,000ft² of new-build industrial and office accommodation.

The agricultural management, which remains an essential part of the traditional core values of the business, has in excess of 22,000 acres of agricultural land, 205 residential cottages, country houses and commercial units under direct management.
