Horse sense as Equi-Trek gallops into Chaldicott Barns

The largest manufacturer of horseboxes and trailers in Europe has taken space at an award-winning rural office and warehouse development park near Shaftesbury on the Wiltshire/Dorset border.

Property consultancy Myddelton & Major has successfully negotiated the letting of a unit at Chaldicott Barns to Equi-Trek on a six-year lease.

Myddelton & Major Partner Dean Speer said: “Equi-Trek caters for all equine transport needs, ranging from £5,000 trailers to £750,000 luxury lorries, and it has been a pleasure to help facilitate the company’s move on to this business park.

“Equi-Trek only builds on brand new chassis and works with Peugeot, Isuzu, DAF and Mercedes to build quality vehicles sold through a network of more than 50 authorised sales and service dealers throughout Europe.

“They are perfect for family-run Chaldicott Barns’ secure offices and warehouses set within 40 acres of scenic natural woodland in Tokes Lane, Semley, where every unit is fitted to a very high specification, including ample parking, excellent transport links and high speed broadband connectivity.

“Other tenants at the James family’s former farm Chaldicott Barns, awarded rural conversion of the year in 2007 by the Country Landowners Association, include travel company Natural High Safaris, specialist car suppliers RR Elite Ltd, pet products wholesaler Collar Ways and Parajet.”

Semley is three miles north of Shaftesbury on the A350 Warminster Road. The A350 links to the A303 four miles the north. Chaldicott Barns is less than half a mile from the A350.

Chaldicott Barns is a high quality development comprising the total refurbishment of a range of period farm buildings and newly constructed office buildings arranged around a central courtyard.

Equi-Trek’s oak framed building has weatherboard elevations under a slate roof and the interior is open to the eaves and the oak frame exposed to view. The unit has been fitted out to a high standard.

Myddelton & Major was named the most active agency in Wiltshire in 2015 for the fourth year running by Estates Gazette, the weekly and online magazine of the UK commercial property industry.
