Harris Lamb sells Malvern warehouse to bespoke kitchen company for £1.5m

Harris Lamb has sold a Malvern production building to a bespoke furniture manufacturer for £1.5million.

Roundhouse, an independent firm of designers and craftsmen specialising in bespoke kitchen design and build, has bought Orion House, a building previously occupied by Permadoor on the Spring Lane Industrial Estate to expand its manufacturing base.

The business has seven UK showrooms in London and Cheltenham and has taken on the 29,000 sq ft building due to its excellent transport links to the rest of the UK.

The building, located on the Advantage Business Park, is comprised of both office and production space, and has good access to both junction seven of the M5 and junction one of the M50.

Lance Turner of Harris Lamb’s Worcester office, said: “We have recently seen a marked increase in demand for freehold property. This is underpinned by increasing business confidence, with businesses looking to develop their longer term business plans based on owning rather than leasing business premises as the economy has improved and confidence increased within the manufacturing sector.

“Roundhouse Design is one such business recognising the benefits of such investment. As a prestigious manufacturing company already based  in Malvern, with a strong  workforce and customer-base in the south of the UK and the ability to purchase a larger building provided Roundhouse with the optimum solution to the company’s expansion needs.
