A Nottinghamshire business is doubling the size of its offices in preparation for significant new client wins and the expansion of its workforce.

Graham Belfield, founder and managing director of B&M Installations, will transform the 2,000sq ft, three-storey building in Pelham Court, Carrington, into a high spec office and showroom.

B&M Installations, a family run commercial refurbishment company, was founded 22 years ago. Earlier this year the firm launched a domestic refurbishment branch to focus on loft conversions, extensions and other household improvements.

Graham has ambitious plans for the business, which last year it reached its record turnover of £2m. The new office will be more than twice the size of their current home in Annesley Road, Hucknall. Currently employing 15 members of staff, the new office will also bring new job opportunities as it expands.

“We are a company in growth and having won 31 tenders, a record number this year,” said Graham. “Our intention is to convert the ground floor into a showroom with some of our suppliers, so our clients can come in to see for themselves the improvements we can make to their offices.

“There is a particular trend at the moment for acoustic decorative panels within office space and we will have these on display so clients can see what they look like and how they work.

“We looked at a number of properties but knew this one would be ideal due it its size and proximity to some of our largest clients, The University of Nottingham and intu.”

Undertaking all refurbishment work himself with his team of builders, decorators, plumbers and electricians, Graham is looking forward to the finished result.

He completed the sale in a deal brokered by property consultants, Bruton Knowles and Nottingham-based Cleggs Solicitors, which handled the conveyancing for B&M Installations.

Alison Belfield, associate at Cleggs, acted on behalf of B&M Installations to finalise the deal. She said: “We were delighted to work with the team at B&M Installation on this important milestone for their business.

“We have worked hard to ensure a smooth process for them in their transition from their smaller premises in Hucknall to their new office in Carrington.”

Sam Spencer of Bruton Knowles said, “The building has real potential for refurbishment and with the in-house skills that B&M Installations has, it will be fantastic when it’s all finished.

“We wish Graham and the team all the best in their new headquarters.

“This is the third property we have sold in Pelham Court in 2015, which highlights the appeal of the location and demonstrates the continuing overall improvement in trading conditions.”

Graham set up B&M Installations with his business partner James Martin and a team of two staff in 1993, offering just the basic office refurbishment contract.

After winning a major tender at The University of Nottingham, the business has a strong foothold locally with clients including Toot Hill School and intu.

Graham said: “The team works incredibly hard and our fitters on site pride themselves on completing their work to the highest standard and this has paid dividends for the firm.”
