Brighter future for communications agency with senior hire

Cardiff-based PR consultancy Brighter Comms has recruited a new Head of Content to spearhead its content development services.

Darren Evans, aged 34 and from Cardiff, is a former journalist who has joined the company after seven years working for the Times Educational Supplement.

Originally from Pontypool, Darren graduated with a degree in journalism from the University of Central Lancashire in 2002 and started his journalism career on the South Wales Argus.

At Brighter Comms he will head up a team of consultants developing content for communication campaigns.

Brighter Comms was set up in 2011 by award-winning communications consultant Sara Robinson. The agency’s clients include Welsh Rarebits luxury hotel collection, Brecon Carreg mineral water, Cardiff Gate business park, Porth Teigr and Life Sciences Hub Wales.

Darren said: “I am excited to be joining such a vibrant and creative agency with an impressive list of clients and a committed, talented team.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to use the skills and experience I have developed over 13 years in journalism to help ensure the quality and relevance of all content produced for Brighter Comms clients.

“I’m also looking forward to working alongside a number of former print and broadcast journalists to bring a ‘newsroom’ approach to the agency, getting to the heart of the story and message every time.”

Managing Director Sara Robinson said:
“Good content underpins all of our work for clients. Whether it’s a campaign proposition, a well-crafted press release, pithy social media content or an impactful infographic, we take pride in helping clients tell their stories in the most powerful way possible. Darren’s appointment is a crucial part of our growth strategy as we look to meet the rising demand for great content, and I’m looking forward to working alongside him to grow this key element of our offering.”
