Rapleys acquires Biscoe Craig Hall

Rapleys, the property and planning consultancy, announces that it has acquired chartered surveying firm Biscoe Craig Hall.

Previously based in Holborn, Biscoe Craig Hall was founded more than 150 years ago and is widely renowned for advising clients across the full spectrum of land and estate matters. Built upon a thorough knowledge of property law and practice, building and markets, it has particular strength in acting for charities, trusts and church authorities, as well as owner occupiers, tenants, developers and private individuals.

As part of the acquisition, Adam Harvey will become a partner at Rapleys, with Neil Fallowfield, Robert Stibbards and Paul Smyth joining the firm as consultants. The team are now operating from the Rapleys office on Great Marlborough Street in London.

Rapleys’ acquisition of Biscoe Craig Hall is the first such acquisition for the firm in its history. In addition to further strengthening the firm’s overall offer, it adds significantly enhanced expertise in advising clients in the charity sector. The acquisition is effective from 21 September 2015.

Robert Clarke, senior partner of Rapleys, commented:

“I am delighted to welcome BCH to Rapleys. The addition of their team and expertise will consolidate, and enhance, our transactional and professional services to the benefit of our client base. This includes the addition of significant advisory experience in the charity sector, which is a natural complement to our other areas of expertise.

“The addition of Biscoe Craig Hall to the Rapleys team represents our first acquisition in our more than 60 year history.  Alongside relentless pursuit of stable organic growth, Rapleys is fully committed to considering further acquisitions which bring added value to our service offer and ensure we are best placed to meet the needs of our clients.”

Adam Harvey added:

“We are delighted to become part of such a well-established and respected nationwide practice. I’m confident that our unique contributions will play a valuable role in supporting Rapleys’ future goals and ambitions, and I look forward to the exciting times which lie ahead.”
