Innes England employees smash fundraising target for 2015

Tim Garratt, Managing Director, Innes England

Leading cancer charity Cancer Research UK has continued to receive phenomenal support from Innes England over the past eight months. The commercial agent has already surpassed its fundraising target of £10,000 for the charity, having raised more than £12,000 and counting.

The Innes England team has taken part in a wide range of fundraising activities throughout 2015, including a 75 mile bike ride, a squash tournament, the Pretty Muddy 5km race, a number of Race for Life events, and also a number of themed dress up and dress down days.

Matthew Hannah, a director at Innes England, said: “We are overjoyed by the support we have received during all our fundraising events so far – and we are astonished to have raised £12,000 already. This is way above our target and we really couldn’t have achieved this without everyone’s support.

“We are excited to see how much more we can raise for this amazing charity, and we hope we can continue to build on the momentum we have had over the past eight months.”

The firm’s three offices (Derby, Nottingham and Leicester) have all been pivotal in the fundraising process, helping Innes England to reach its fundraising target prematurely and getting involved in a wide range of activities.

Rebecca Elphick, local fundraising manager at Cancer Research UK, said:  “Cancer Research UK’s vision is to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. In the 1970s, less than a quarter of people with cancer survived.

“But over the last 40 years, survival has doubled – today half will survive. Cancer Research UK’s aim is to accelerate progress and see three-quarters of people surviving the disease within the next 20 years. However, it is only thanks to Cancer Research UK’s supporters, like Innes England, that this will be achieved.”

Innes England will continue to support Cancer Research UK throughout the course of the year, hoping to keep raising funds to add to its overall fundraising barometer.
