One of London’s top kitchen and cookware shops and brands has chosen Worcester as the location for its new distribution warehouse, bringing new jobs to the city, with more to come as sales grow.

Part of the Leamington Spa-based Aga Rangemaster Group, Divertimenti, which styles itself as London’s favourite kitchen and cookware shop, has taken a new five year lease on a 14,869 sq ft warehouse at Unit 4, Wainwright Road, Worcester, WR4 9FA at a rent of £52,500 per annum, in a deal arranged by Worcester commercial property consultancy GJS Dillon LLP, acting on behalf of landlord Underwood & Company Limited.

With its flagship store in Knightsbridge and a newly rewritten online store, Divertimenti offers over 6,500 items of professional quality cookware and tableware for amateur and professional cooks.  The company has moved its distribution warehouse to Worcester from Leamington Spa, as part of a plan to grow the business, particularly through its enhanced online presence.

Divertimenti was attracted to Worcester by the city’s good communications and flexible workforce.  Wainwright Road is only half a mile from Junction six of the M5 and access to the national motorway network.

Maureen Williams, Managing Director of Divertimenti said: “Wainwright Road offers us the space we need to grow in an excellent location for the business.”

Lynne Davies, Lettings Manager at GJS Dillon said: “This is good news for Worcester, bringing new jobs to the city from outside of the county.  It underscores the fact that the city and the county are one of the country’s premier business locations.

“Divertimenti is not alone in recognising the benefits of doing business in Worcestershire.  In the past six months we have seen a 25% increase in take up of industrial and warehouse space, with occupiers being encouraged by Worcestershire being the third fastest growing economic area in England, combined with easy access to the national motorway network, a flexible workforce, key lifestyle factors and assistance from the LEP, County Council and other public sector bodies.”

Earle Latham of Latham High acted for Divertimenti.
